Indonesian National Team Now Able to Train at IKN

In a significant boost for national sports development, the Indonesian National Team can now utilize the state-of-the-art training facilities at the new capital city, IKN (Ibu Kota Nusantara). This development marks a new era for Indonesian athletes, providing them with world-class infrastructure to prepare for national and international competitions.

The integrated sports complex Indonesian National Team at IKN boasts a range of facilities designed to cater to various sporting disciplines. This includes modern stadiums for football and athletics, Olympic-standard swimming pools, indoor sports halls for badminton, basketball, and volleyball, as well as specialized training centers for weightlifting, martial arts, and more. The strategic location within IKN also offers a conducive environment for athletes, away from the hustle and bustle of major metropolitan areas, allowing for focused training regimens.

This access to advanced facilities is expected to significantly enhance the preparation of Indonesian athletes across different sports. Previously, training often took place in disparate locations with varying levels of infrastructure quality. The consolidation of training at IKN allows for better coordination among coaching staff, improved access to sports science support, and a more unified national team atmosphere.

The move to allow the national team to train at IKN aligns with the government’s vision of establishing the new capital as a hub for excellence in various sectors, including sports. The investment in these high-quality training grounds underscores the commitment to elevating Indonesia’s sporting achievements on the global stage. Athletes will benefit from cutting-edge equipment, professional-grade playing surfaces, and comprehensive support services, all within a single, integrated complex.

Furthermore, the presence of the national team at IKN is expected to inspire local communities and foster a greater interest in sports among the residents of the new capital. The athletes will serve as role models, encouraging youth participation and potentially laying the foundation for a vibrant sporting culture in IKN.
